Firstly, we reviewed the basic Swing step from last week (a triple step to the L (gals R), and then a triple step to the R (gals L), and then both partners rock back, and then forward onto the other foot. Keep steps compact & put a slight swinging action into each of the triple steps. After the rock step, the man 'patticakes' his L hand to her R, then keeps her facing him on the 1st triple step, and THEN raises his hand to let her go under. Careful not to raise that hand any sooner 'cause girls will be girls - she'll take off on you! Gals: spin around AFTER that 1st triple step to face the man, and then you both do your 2nd triple to the side (facing each other), and the rock step. (This last step (w/the turn) is called the 'Outside Turn'.)
This week we learned the 'Inside Turn' - The man does the same steps (triple to the L, triple to the R, and then 'rock step' - but on the 1st triple, he turns 1/4 turn to his R while rotating his R arm xss his body to the R (just the opposite direction of last week's turn). At the end of that 1st triple she will be facing him, and they both triple to the side & rock step.
Another new step - 'She Turns, He Turns' - On the 1st triple, the man does a "forward" triple step, and he moves 'past' the girl (they trade places). Then w/a sharp turn to again face the girl, he does his 2nd triple to his R. They then both rock step. Gals: remember to do a full turn on your 1st triple so that you are 'facing' your partner. Then do your 2nd triple to your L (facing the man, and then rock step. VIP that you both do a full 180 degree turn to face your partner.
