First of all we reviewed last week's new Swing pattern - 'Inside Turn to Check'. Few things to remember on that step. Guys: Place your R hand on the R side of the lady's back when she turns into your R side. When you step forward into your rock step, keep it small because the lady will be going back in the other direction. Send her back, then spring her forward.
Gals: On your triple steps, resist turning - keep it straight, and THEN a sharp turn to the your rock step. Make a strong hip action when you step back, and keep the head and arm high.
We learned a new 'foxy' step called the 'Lady's forward Swivel Walks'. Guys: This is easy to lead - just step backward aggressively in a straight line - L,R.L,R,L,R. On each step pull your centre back - that will bring the girl forward. Keeping your L elbow slightly in front of your body, turn your hand (from the elbow only) - L, R,L,R,L,R. Gals: From the waist, swivel to your R, then L, R, L, R, L. To do this, turn your hips & knees (together) as far to the R, then to the L as you can. You might want to practice this by just standing still, turning strongly & then stepping. Then in the other direction - to get the feeling of the strong rotation in the lower body. L hand should be held out, or high, or even on the hip - but not down.
