Recap for Lesson #7 - Intermediate level

2nd week on the beautiful Waltz dance . .

We reviewed the 'Face to Face; Back to Back' - looks like everyone has a good handle on that one. I liked the way all you guys are mastering the lead on that, and dancing with much more 'flow' than ever before.

We also reviewed a past learned pattern - the 2-Way Underarm Turn - first 3 measures are the same as the above pattern; but then the man leads the gal into an inside turn as he steps forward w/his R foot to come alongside of her - Forward, Side, & together. @ the end of these 3 steps, partners should be side by side - with a one-hand hold. Then both step forward onto the foot closest to the partner, turn to face each other on the side step (where he resumes closed position), and feet close.

We also reviewed the Progressive Forward steps, dancing 'outside partner'. Man starts by stepping forward into the gal, then side step - but angling to a 'diagonal' step, feet together; and then continues with forward 1/2 boxes, but each time taking the forward step 'outside' of his partner. On the 5th measure, he steps forward, but then stops & hold for 3 counts - VIP that when he does this, he keeps his head weight back so that he doesn't lose his balance by falling forward. Then he steps back onto his R foot, side onto L, and together (6 measures - ** all 3 of these patterns are '6' measures).

On the last week of dance lessons We have a "wrap up party". Dance classes are not open to the public – members or guests only.

All students bring a food item – ie: appetizers, quartered sandwiches, veggies, or whatever. All foods are placed on tables at the front, and everyone helps themselves buffet style at intermission.

Students can bring their own water, pop, or juice.
