Recap for Lesson #8 - Intermediate

1/2 hour practice of our Waltz patterns learned recently -
1) Face to Face; Back to Back
2) 2-Way U/A Turns
3) Progressive Twinkles - with a 'check'

Then we started on the lovely Samba dance (and fun too). We learned how to dance the Copa steps - forward, collapse other knee forward, then step back onto ball of foot of the rear foot, and 'pull' the front foot back - *this action is best done by using a pendulum forward & back action thru the hips (pelvis) - "sit and bow".
1st measue: 5th position break (side step, ball to heel step, step 1st foot in place - @ the end of these 1st 3 steps, partners should both be facing promenade.
Then, 3 copas traveling in promenade; a side break; and then the partners xss (men w/R foot, gals w/L foot) & chasse side to side - 1,ah, 2, ah, 3, ah 4; then the other way - 5 - 8; then the other way 9 - 12 - But! man circularly turns on this last section to reconnect with his partner. *Note: On the chasses, the man is in front of his partner - his back to her front.

We have 3 Friday night parties during every 10 weeks of lessons. They are not open to the public, thus no witnesses. Ha! You can personally invite your friends or family members though. I often advise you of other dances offered in the Lower Mainland as well.
