1st 1/2 of the lesson was strictly reviewing the Slow Nite Club - see lesson recaps 1 + 2 (R side of the page)
2nd 1/2 of the lesson >> beginning to learn the Swing. Man danced a triple step to his L (1&2), a triple to his R (3 & 4), and then a rock step (very small step backward onto his L, and just step forward onto his R foot. Lady the exact opposite, starting to her R - BUT! She also does a 'back' rock - in other words, when he steps back on his rock step she does not follow him with a forward step. Instead, she also steps back & then forward (back on her R foot (small) & forward onto her L foot. *All steps should be compact. This dance has lots of movement (ie: hips & knees), but does not cover a lot of space.
Then (we started) to learn another pattern with an underarm turn for the girl. After the rock step of the 1st pattern, the man raises his L hand to about shoulder level (no higher) & flattens his hand to hers - as they both dance the 1st triple step facing each other. Then, on the '2', he raises that hand up & above her head, and she spins around to face him. Then they both dance the exact same steps as in the 1st pattern, except that she turns between steps 2 and 3 (1&2, spin, then 3&4 (facing him again). He does the same steps as well, except for the L hand patty-caking hers on the 1&2, and then up & over her head.
